緒言
東京大学名誉教授である尾本惠市博士（1933年〜）は、著名な人類学者かつ鱗翅学者である。彼の昆虫コレクションは、2013年に研究用標本として東京大学総合研究博物館へ寄贈されている（尾本, 2013）。標本総数は約30,000点で、主にユーラシア産のチョウ類で構成されるが、現在では入手困難な極めて貴重な種が多数含まれている。
東京大学総合研究博物館では、国内外における多様な研究の基礎資料として貢献するため、コレクションのデータベースを作成し、出版物やウェブ上に公開する計画を続けてきた。2020年にはその第1部として、特に尾本博士が専門としているアゲハチョウ科のウスバシロチョウ亜科の標本をデータベース化し、ホームページ上で発信するとともに、当館の標本資料報告シリーズにて出版した（Yago et al., 2019, 2020）。コレクションの概要や尾本博士の経歴も、この中の“Introduction”で詳述している。
この第1部の目録の出版・ウェブ公開に次いで、残るアゲハチョウ科のアゲハチョウ亜科を収録した尾本チョウ類コレクション目録第2部を本サイトで公開する。本目録は当館ホームページ内にある博物館データベースで先行公開も行っている（Yago et al., 2021）。このアゲハチョウ科・アゲハチョウ亜科目録に掲載されている標本群は計1,664点からなり、大型ドイツ箱59箱に収められている。中でも注目すべきは、モエルネリマネシアゲハやカロリンエンシスマネシアゲハ、チベットタイマイのような世界にわずかしかない種の標本の他、ワシントン条約・付属書Iの掲載種ブルケラヌスマエモンジャコウアゲハのような今では取引が難しい種の標本、ジャコウアゲハ宮古島亜種をはじめとする新亜種の記載に用いられたタイプ標本など、学術的に重要な標本もリスト化されている。また、旧北区のキアゲハ類やカラスアゲハ類が充実しているのも特筆すべきであろう。本目録作成にあたり、種・亜種の同定および学名の表記はBraby (2000)、D'Abrera (1971, 1981, 1982, 1990)、猪又ほか (2013)、松香 (2001)、Monastyrskii (2007)、Monastyrskii & Devyatkin (2016)、Möhn (2006)、Parsons (1998)、Schäffler (2001)、Shiraiwa et al. (2014)、Sturm (2017)、塚田・西山 (1980)、Tyler et al. (1994)、Warren et al. (2017) 、武・徐 (2017)に準拠した。
本データベースは分類学や生物地理学のような分野に寄与するだけでなく、生物多様性保全の基礎となるインベントリー（目録）を提供することができる。種の分布情報を利用することで、地球温暖化や森林伐採のような環境問題に繋がる情報も多く見込める。本データベースの公開・出版が、ミュージアムコレクションの重要性を社会に広く認識させるものとなることを期待したい。
