Note
|
In describing this species Maekawa (1932) listed four specimens as typus. These syntypes are Nakai 1930, Nakai 1931, Nakai 1932 and Maekawa 1931. However, Nakai 1930 is not found in the Herbarium, and the remaining three syntypes are all in fruiting stage. The original description was apparently written on the basis of living materials in flowering stage. Therefore, the lost syntype must bear flowers. However, it could not be found not only in our herbarium but also in other main herbaria in Japan. Therefore, I choose the lectotype among the present syntypes, though we tentatively listed specimens of 'Prov. Awa, Mt. Kiyodzumi. T. Nakai' as the holotype in our previous paper (Ohashi & Murata 1980).
