Note Holotype  in  SAP.
Although  Tatewaki  (1932)  described  Sasa  sylvatica  without  citing  any  specimen,  we  found  a  specimen  which  was  collected  in  the  Experimental  Forest  on  7  Oct.  1931  by  Dr.  Tatewaki  himself,  and  indicated  "Co-type".  Therefore,  the  specimen  is  thought  to  be  isotype  of  S.  sylvativa.
