This was labeled by Nakai as 'Type of Arisaema glaucescens Nakai var. typicum Nakai'.
In the original description data of the type specimen are written simply as follows: 'Liukiu: Okinawa (M. Ogata)', but later in 1939, when Nakai (Icon. Pl. Asiae Orient. 3(1): 202) rose this variety to specific rank, he added several data as follows: 'Insula Okinawa: circa Naha., (M. Ogata, anno 1928)'. However, the type specimen was prepared by Ogata in 1930 after cultivating the plant in Tokyo. |
